My Story.

Since client sessions aren’t typically a place where I share much about myself - below is a little about me and my journey of becoming a passionate mental health therapist, consultant, and educator.

Proudly, I am a Texas native - born and raised in Austin. I began my trek across Texas when I began undergrad at Texas Tech University, where I earned a Bachelors in Psychology with a biology and chemistry double-minor. I then made my way to east Texas where I obtained my Masters in Clinical Mental Health at the University of Texas at Tyler. Eventually, I found myself back in central Texas, to pursue my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with a research agenda in relational competence within trauma and crisis counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Throughout my doctorate program, I completed 3,000 hours of supervised direct client hours in a variety of clinical trauma settings to become eligible for a professional counselor license in the state of Texas - I maintain my Licensed Professional Counselor status with accruing required continuing education credits every year.

I grew up with a natural affinity to nature, exploration, and mystery. I have always had a reflective, curious, and investigative mind. Often considering how my experiences impact me and how my relationships help shape me. I’m a big dreamer and I take a stand for experiencing life to it’s fullest - enjoying all the small things, celebrating the big wins, feeling through the hard things, and being present with pain. I’m a believer that all the things we go through, are happening for us, for our growth and personal evolution. I’ve learned that everything - our emotions, our thought patterns, our relationships, our experiences, our darkness - are all teachers, here to provide us lessons and wisdom to know ourselves deeply and understand our existence here.

These beliefs formed from a lifetime of experiencing, feeling, learning, and shifting - over and over again - as I have learned myself and my own life. This led me to pursuing a career where I get to hold the special role of guiding others to learn from their experiences to understand themselves better and what they truly want. It lights me up to work with clients who put in the effort to create the changes they want to see in their life and become aligned with their values and desires.

Together, my clients and I pursue a process of healing and creating. Healing comes in many ways, and is never a linear process. To me, healing is choosing to process the impact of our experiences, learning the lessons they hold, and integrating those lessons into the next version of ourselves and our life, moving forward. Creating is a process of making the change. Making new decisions and habits that are aligned with our desires - embodying the wisdom we have gained from our past and our pain - exploring new ways of approaching our life, our relationships, and our roles that feels grounded and authentic for us. The creation process is where you do the work and how you create the results you are seeking. Together, we pursue transformation - and empower you to continue your pursuit of growth and evolution.
